Through the Friendly Fridge BX -the first community fridge in the Bronx, we rescue & redirect food into the community through outreach & action.

Two million New York City residents - nearly 1 in 3, experience food insecurity while 68% of discarded food in New York City is edible. The Friendly Fridge Foundation is working hard to redirect that food into the hands of folks who need a little extra help.

A community fridge is a refrigerator that is located in an accessible place. As a community, we are normalizing the concept of sharing food instead of wasting. Anyone can participate, putting food in and taking what they need.
